This solution did not work. It did trigger multiple updates though. I still have the same error.

Please run the System Update readiness Tool and let me know the result in %SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log.

In a nutshell:
Download the standalone installer.
Kill the Windows Update process.
Run the standalone installer.
