eml files in queue folder
Hi
I just setup SMTP service in R2008 Foundation server. I sent some emails using this service. The emails did manage to go out. When I checked the queue folder, there were some eml files in them.
I was wondering if the files are supposed to be there, or they haven't been sent yet or they will not be sent. Any feedback is appreciated.
Many thanks in advance
Richard

Normally if they are in the queue folder, they haven't been sent yet.
To check the reason why these emails in the queue, you may enable SMTP logging and check the log files.

Dear Oguz
Many thanks for taking time to help. I enabled logging, and the logs info seem like Martian Language to me :).. I think I will need time to understand what it says.
So, will the eml files stay there forever or will be moved to bad files folder after a few attempts.
Thanks again
Richard

They should be moved to bad files folder after some attempts, you can try to stop and start the SMTP service to process the queue.
The below link has a good Logparser Powershell script for showing the logs in a more fashionable way :)
