having printing issues since upgrading to IE7
We are running windows XP sp2 and 3 on our PCs, recently upgraded to IE 7, have a web based application that uses infopath forms (office 2003) since the upgrade many of the forms look like they are printing with the shrink to fit option, also many standard forms have increased the number of pages they print out. A document that would have printed out on 2 pgs now takes 4 pages. Never had these problems with IE6. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi,Thanks for the post. Now would you please capture the following two screenshot to make this issue clear?Screenshot 1:=============Capture a screenshot when the"shrink to fit" option is shown up.Screenshot 2:=============Please click Print Preview button and then capture a screenshot. How to capture a Screenshot: ======================= 1. Please press the Print Screen key (Putsch) on your keyboard. 2. Click Start, click Run, type MSPAINT, and click OK. 3. In Paint, click Paste under the Edit Menu, click Save under the File menu, type a file name for the screenshot, choose JPEG as "Save as type", click "Desktop" on the left pane, and click Save. 4. Please find the screenshot on the Desktop, and use Windows Live SkyDrive (http://www.skydrive.live.com/) to upload the file and then give me the download address. Moreover, please also check if this issue occurs in Clean Boot Mode.Clean Boot =============Let's disable all startup items and third party services when booting. This method will help us determine if this issue is caused by a loading program or service. Please perform the following steps: 1. Click "Start", go to "Run", and type "msconfig" (without the quotation marks) in the open box to start the System Configuration Utility. 2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray). 3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK". 4. Click "OK" to restart your computer to Selective Startup environment. 5. When the "System Configuration Utility" window appears, please check the "Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows starts" box and click OK.6. Check whether or not the issue still appears in this environment. Note: Temporarily disabling the Startup Group only prevents the startup programs from loading at startup. This shouldn't affect the system or other programs. We may still manually run these programs later. Hope this helps.

Hi Miles, thanks for the reply...I can't send any screen shots of the shrink to fit options as there are none on the document but that's what it looks like. Its is a web based app that uses infopath forms and the form has its own print control which uses an smsx control from Mead and Company I am know starting to think that this may be the issue. Although its says you do not need an updated version of the control unless you are using IE8. But I might try testing this new control on a PC with IE 7 just to see if it makes a difference.I did try printing the doc in clean boot mode and it still looks like it is using a some sort of shrink to fit option from somewhere. But thanks for the info..Mary-Ellen..
