Hello, I have a physical computer with Windows 7 Professional that is connected wirelessly to my router, and I am hosting Server 2008 Enterprise on a virtual pc on same computer as my domain controller. I have a separate computer connected to the windows 7 computer with an ethernet cable. I am trying to join one physical computer to the virtual domain controller but I am having no luck. I was able to ping the separate physical computer through IP and computer name. However, when I tried to ping the virtual domain controller from the physical separate computer I was able to with the IP address but not with the domain name. Also, my main problem, not being able to join it to my domain. So I am thinking I am having a DNS problem since I am able to ping both ways through IP addresses but only one way with the name. I have tried so many different combinations of things including bridge connections but that only made my problems worse. Can anybody help?
