You have several options to accommodate new hosts... The most salable and flexible solution is to simply create a new DHCP scope for the remote subnet. On that remote subnet, configure the router to use the DHCP relay agent service (IP Helper for cisco). Point the relay agent to your DHCP server's IP address. There is no need for another NIC in the DHCp server. While DHCP can service clients using multiple NICs, its not as a flexible design as with the use of VLANs and Relay agents. Hi Thomas, Firstly, please let us know that the branch office is using leased to connect to the primary site or over the Internet. If the branch office direct connect to the SonicWall router or other routers between them, make sure that the router at the remote site has configure DHCP relay agent. So clients at branch office can receive the DHCP packets and get IP address. Also, we can use router as a DHCP server on remote site. In short, we just need to ensure that clients at branch office have correct IP and the two subnets can communicate with each other. If the branch office is over the Internet to primary site, its better to install new DHCP and DNS on the branch office network.
