network connectivity issues
Hi We have been experiencing intermittent network connectivity issues. This effects the printers as well as access to files. Some of the PCs will restart on their own (not sure if this is related). All of this started just last week. Nothing has changed in a month. Last month I upgraded their server from Windows 2003 Standard to Windows 2008 Standard.. not sure if this has anything to do with it since everything was working fine for a month after the upgrade. This server is also the domain server. The PCs in this network are running Windows XP SP3. Any ideas? Thank you, Peggy

Intermittent network connectivity loss issues might occur due to several reasons such as old NIC drivers, Turned on Windows firewall on machines, AV firewall etc... Try updating NIC drivers on problematic machines Turn off Windows firewall on machines Turn off AV firewall on a sample machine for observation (if applicable) Also, check the event viewer and see if there are any errors or warnings I do not represent the organisation I work for, all the opinions expressed here are my own. Also, check for any faulty patch cable at network switch level, if faulty cable is connected at up link of access switch and distribution switch. that might also cause intermittent network loss issues.I do not represent the organisation I work for, all the opinions expressed here are my own. Hi, > We have been experiencing intermittent network connectivity issues. This effects the printers as well as > access to files. Are there any other symptoms about this issue, and any other error messages? Is this issue happened on all network connection or just network connection to your Windows Server 2008 Domain Controller? Check NIC drivers on your Domain Controller, and update drivers to latest version. > Some of the PCs will restart on their own (not sure if this is related). Check event log on these computers, find out related error log and post it. Also please update Antivirus software and perform full scan on your servers and clients. The issues have seem to resolve themselves. I think they had some faulty electrical issues.
