In that PC, I installed vmware player and intalled win2003EE. When I tried to change computer name of win2003EE , it says duplicate name exist on network. It is standalone PC with no network and there is only one vmware guest pc(win2003EE) which is newly installed(not copied one). I searched by google and saw vmware community but there is no answer. And I think now it is not vmware related problem because it is newly installed only one win2003EE guest PC. How do I fix the problem ?

Option 1: Assign a new hostname to 2003 VM and reboot. OR Option 2: Run newSID.exe on the 2003 VM and allow newSID to change the hostname. Thank you very much . I did nbtstat -RR in Host PC(win7) and guest vmware win2003EE and NetBIOS name are refreshed. But when I change hostname of win2003EE it says name duplication.
