As you are asking about proprietary software, I suggest you contact Lytec support:

Hi salaami,
Can a lytec backup database file (for example mydb.bak) be opened by a generic sql server lke mssql server 2008 or mysql? How can I do this?
We could not "open" database file using SQL Server just like open a word file by double clicking, if we have an SQL Server database backup file, we need to restore it to SQL Server and then use it. Generally, we specify the .bak as the suffix for a SQL Server database backup file, it does not mean any file with .bak as the suffix could be restore to SQL Server, just as pvdg42 suggested, you need to contact the Lytec to confirm whether their database can converted into SQL Server.
Thanks,
Weilin Qiao
