regarding sharing of folders and permissions
hello, we have installed server2003 standard edition in our office. we have created a main folder named archive2011 and again in that there are about 30 folders in it.We have kept share option for archive2011 folder for all users and given respective permissions for each user. The issue we are facing is..the folders which the user does not have access are also seen it should not be even visible that there is a folder with that name. In the sense For any user, there should be display of predefined folders for which he has got respective permissions, in the sense the other folders/files which are present should not be visible to him. I request you to suggest and sort out this issue as soon as possible...

Hi Kothuru, If you're running Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 or later, then you should have a read of this article that discusses a feature named "Access Based Enumeration". The article discusses what it is and how to enable it. The short summary is that it will hide folders to which users do not have rights, which is what you've described in your post. Regards, Lain
