system drive replication problem
I have a couple problems that may be related to having expanded C: and am wondering if anybody has any suggestions. I used NovaBackup to image C:, changed partitions to give C: the whole drive, and restored the image. The problems may have started then and I just didn't notice till now. The problems have to do with Active Directory browser complaining it has a bad path to data, and FRS having an error apparently about a path too. Is there typically something that gets messed up in imaging/restoring that I should check? The system is working okay otherwise. I've done the same thing on other systems and not had this problem but maybe something was different here. This is a stand-alone server domain controller.

Hello, In your situation, Active Directory-based domain controller is backed up / restored by a 3rd party software NovaBackup. As we are not familiar the image building process of the NovaBackup, it is hard to analyze the possible reason of the domain controllers issues after the restore, from Microsoft side. We recommend you to contact NovaBackup support to check if similar issues reported before. From our side, you could consider the steps in the following article: Domain Controller Recovery http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc535164.aspx The general steps to restore domain controller are listed. Please also check the Event Viewer logs to get more clues on the deep reason of the directory services problem. Thanks. Regards, MiyaMiya Yao TechNet Community Support
