*EDITED* Switching user accounts when not in an administrator account and welcome screen/fast user switch turned off.
I really need help. I am the administrator for the computer, but I am not logged on into my admin account, I'm logged into a limited account. I need to switch accounts but the switch user function is turned off, and being in a limited account, I can't turn it on. Also, when I was originally in the admin account, I did try to turn the function back on, but it told me I couldn't until some program was uninstalled. Oh, and there is no welcome screen because it was turned off too. Can you help me turn this function on and get back to my account or am I stuck forever, never able to reaccess my admin account?*Edited question:My computer is a Windows 2000XP Professional laptop, and it is automatically signing me into the limited user account. I tried pressing the Shift key when restarting the computer, but all it did was tell me there was a "stuck key" and I had to stop pressing it and continue. I don't know what the program that pops up when I tried to turn the windows screen back on was, but as soon as I can access my admin account, I can figure it out. So far, the advice I was given hasn't worked. Any other ideas? Thanks

You've left out some important information. What version of XP are you running, Home/Pro/Media Center? Are you getting logged in automatically to your Limited user account? If yes, then hold down the Shift key as Windows is starting up. This should get you the Classic logon box and you can enter your own user name/password. Once in, fix the automatic log in by doing the reverse of: Configure Windows to Automatically Login (MVP Ramesh) - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm If you want to get the Welcome Screen back, you'll need to give the exact text of the error message and not just say "some program". The fix depends on what the "some program" is.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
