.bat File extension defaulted to Notepad when I installed Windows
Solved it myself, so I need the opening post marked as an answer. I keep forgetting that file extensions are hidden by default when I install windows, and accidentally downloaded a bat file that had an extension of TXT, so I couldn't actually execute it. My solution: For Microsoft to show extensions by default :V Wish they would, linux does that.

The above reply is not an answer at all.

Yes, you have to show file extensions in Windows by default and then remove unwanted .txt file extension from file name. If you have problems with any other file extension, you can go to http://www.file-extensions.org for help. Petr Petr

I've deleted user UserChoice and that fixed my problem. I have not idea why all of the sudden (Windows Update?) my batch file association got changed.
