Are you using Windows Live account? If so, how does it work if you manually link to your Live ID after accessing Windows Live websites? If your Live ID is properly, I suggest you repair the Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant 6.5. If the issue is not resolved, i suggest you temporary disable antivirus and firewall. If it does not help, please reset IE settings. 1. Click Start, please type “inetcpl.cpl” (without quotation marks) in the Start Search bar and press Enter to open the Internet options window. 2. Switch to the Advanced tab. 3. Click the "Reset Internet Explorer Settings" button. 4. Click Reset to confirm the operation. 5. Click Close when the resetting process has finished. 6. Uncheck the "Enable third-party browser extensions" option in the Settings box. 7. Click Apply, click OK.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

I have the same problems. I tried to repair the Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant and I'm told that a newer version already exists. I then followed the other directions you gave and I still have the same problem.
