0x80780119 error when creating a system image
What am I missing? Windows 7 was released AGES AGO! Create a System Image was a part of Windows 7. The developers haven't been able to make it work right yet??? When I look at the recommendations for getting it to work I'm flabbergasted! I'm supposed to go in CMD, stop services and all kinds of other junk, just to get it to work right!!! If we wrote code like this at IBM, we would have been shown the door. No, I don't have the stupid partition for BitLocker so forget about that. Yes, I do have ENOUGH space on my backup drive (600Gb) and I'm trying to back up a 320Gb drive. The 2 partitions I'm trying to back up (XP & 7 Prof, dual boot) supposedly require only 33Gb of disk space. I've tried an 80Gb, 160Gb, 320Gb, and now 600Gb internal disk drives. Why can't Microsoft give us a product that works! Sure, I can go through all these Mickey Mouse steps to get one system to back up but I'm in charge of 15 systems and I have volunteers that update the systems and then back them up. I can't expect a person that worked as a nurse before she retired to even attempt what you're asking in some of your solutions. Let's get your ACT together Microsoft!!!

This error occurs when the System reserved partition (100 MB) has less space. Extending the partition is the solution. If Disk management does not let you do it because of lack of contiguous space, please follow the steps that I have mentioned in this thread. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/fce6950d-c06d-4dd0-a850-67022db4fe04/ Also, please refer to the suggestions in the following threads to see if the issue can be resolved: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit backup failed (0x80780119) Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit (x86) BackUp Problem (The error message say something like:Not Enough Space to create the Shadow Copy Code:0x80780119) Regards, Linda Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. None of our systems have the System reserved partition. I mentioned that in my original posting.
