32 bit to 64 bit upgrade
Hello I am running a desktop thats running xp home edition sp2 32 bit. I would like to buy the windows 7 home premium 64 bit upgrade pack. Will I have to buy the full version of 7 or can I get by with the upgrade if I do a clean install which I have to do anyway because I'm running xp.

You should be able to do the upgrade, but I would recommend getting the full pack so you don't have to worry about a OS needed to upgrade from.Hello! According to the Microsoft Store, when you purchase the retail upgrade you will receive both the64 bit and32 bit disks (see http://store.microsoft.com/microsoft/Windows-7-Home-Premium-Upgrade/product/B0F9E641). There is absolutely no reason to waste your money buying the full version, as long as you have a valid (and activated) OS. Since XP is a qualifying OS and is presumably activated, that is pretty much all that matters (other than the fact that you will need to do a clean install, but you already recognize that anyway)....Stephen
