32bit 64bit
I feel that the 32bit64bit licenses should cover both cpu bits in a single license so 32bit users can use their disc on a 64bit system without a new license.would be an encouraging way to get customers to adopt 64bit when they're pc burns out

Huh?I'm not certain about Win7, but the retail Vista license was good for X86 and X64.I had a retailupgrade license for Vista Home Premium. I had to separately get the X64 DVD from Microsoft. It was free, but with a $10 S&H charge. The 32 bit key worked fine with the 64 bit version. (Only one of them was allowed to be activated. One license, one OS, on one PC is the rule.)OEM licenses were different. I believe that Microsft wouldn't send an X64 DVD to the owner of a system with an OEM X86 license. I don't know what would happen if the OEM X86 key was used with an X64 DVD obtained through other means, but I wouldn't expect it to work.An OEM license also isn't supposed to be transferrable to a new system, but I have read postings from people claiming that they've done it. (Probably involves telling MS support that the need for activation is a repair. The "repair" might be a 100% hardware replacement, in reality.)
