80072EFE - Robin Meng's Solution
Robin
I went through every step. I turned off my Norton Internet Protection. You did not say to turn it back on. THis worried me. I turned it back on before last step, turned it off again, then on after last step. Either way, the
issue is not resolved. I still cannot update WIndows and it seems to be creating all manner of problems these days. Gmail now completely messed up. I gave up following destructions for that, when they did not work. NOT HAPPY. I do wonder
whether Linux installation may be my next option.

Hi,
Please understand the error code indicates the connection issue between your computer and update server. It can be caused by security software, firewall, router, malware,
proxy, or ISP problem, etc.
Therefore, I suggest you disable security software and firewall temporarily. If the issue persists without running them, you can enable them, then try the following
methods. If you have tried them before, just skip it.
1. Scan for computer with your security software.
2. Bypass router if it is used.
3. Clean proxy if it is used.
4. If the computer is in domain, please contact IT admin to check the issue.
5. Check if the following KB is helpful.
