Access Admin$ share on Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit within a 2003 domain
I have seen some discussion on the ability to access Admin$ shares for Windows 7 but am running into trouble. I have tried the registry change LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy (QWORD in my case becuase we're using Enterprise 64) with no success. I have also taken a look at the Network and Sharing components for Domain and all appear to be set correctly. Not to start down the wrong path but I do receive a network path not found message when an attempt to connect is made. I can ping the device and confirm it's present within a browse list(nothing further present). These issues almost appear as if it's a firewall related issue but right now...not completely sure. If anyone has any additional detail on configuration or what specific issues/items I may need to look for, I would appreciate it.

For access to Share$ you only need permisions on the computer you want to connect and that computer must have the right exception in its firewall. When you go to Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Firewall\Allowed Programs on the remote computer do you see File and Printer Sharing selected? Can you access to another shared files in that computer? Can you access to \\computername\C$? Whit what account in your domain are you trying to connect? When you go to Regards and excuse me for my bad english,Ricardo Polo "HodracirK" HodracirK.com

Yes..I'm using a domain account which is a member of the local Administrators Group on the target workstation itself The firewall items for file/print sharing appear to be allowed for the domain profile which is active No access to any shares on the target computer and as I said earlier, it returns a network path not found message...interesting as I can see it in a browse list as well as ping the device. If it were an access rights issue(account related), I'd expect to see a message more indicative of that. I have seen some comments that one would use the DWORD registry setting even in 64 bit windows 7 rather that the QWORD and although I've tried that I may try that option one more time. I've been able to successfully perform the operation with Professional and even Ultimate(may have been 32bit) but neither of those were members of a domain so I'm just a little stumped. I can try to provide you screen shots of each of the settings area (network and file sharing as well as firewall if that will help) but from what I can tell things appear to be correct. Again..I appreciate any and all input that will help to provide resolution! Thanks for your comments!
