I have had windows 8.1 installed on this tablet for some time. I just realized that I could encrypt/decrypt files when I right click them. So I thought "that sounds interesting". So I right clicked a file, and selected "encrypt." The file turned green and I thought "Yay, instant security". I then attempted to immediately decrypt the file and got an error message: "An error occurred applying attributes to the file: (lists path of file) Access is denied.
I only have one user account on this tablet, and it is assigned as the administrator. I started encrypting a couple other files, and got the same problem. I can encrypt them just fine, I just have no access to them after I do it. What am I missing? I did not bring these files from another computer, they were all encrypted on the same and only tablet I use. I did not reformat windows, nor change operating systems. I encrypted a file literally 10 minutes ago, and since then have not been able to decrypt it. I am running Windows 8.1 and have all required updates. Please help.
