Access Denied on Libraries
I get an Access Denied error when using SQL Server Management Studio (2008 R2) to navigate to Folders within My Documents via the libraries icon.
I do not get this error if I navigate to the Folders via the mapped network drive or when using Windows explorer. I also get this error if I click on the My Projects icon on the left hand side of the Open File dialog box.
The installation of Windows 7 was a clean install on newly a formatted disk. My profile was initially created using Windows XP.
I have downloaded and installed all the latest patches for both Windows 7 and SQL Server 2008 R2.
Any help on how to correct this issue would be appreciated.

Can you get there with Explorer?
My MVP is for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT, and I am getting increasingly good with Visual Studio.

My issue is accessing files, not tables. I cannot save, open or even navigate to files that are stored within subfolders of the documents folder when using the libraries icon or the my projects icon.

I noticed you are using a redirect. Check the permissions on the server.

What permissions do I need to check?
Like I have said I can access the files if I use windows explorer but not if I use SSMS.
Why would SSMS have permissions issues when Windows explorer does not?

SMSS does not work like explorer. Try running it as Administrator and see if that helpsMy MVP is for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT, and I am getting increasingly good with Visual Studio.

The permissions that SSMS uses to navigate to a shared resource should be the same as Windows explorer or has microsoft screwed with the permissions by including these libraries links.
Running it as administrator does not make any difference.

Looks like the SSMS permissions are blocking your effort.

Thanks. But i would say that it is more likely that the permissions used by the Libraries is the issue not SSMS.
I have jsut tried to include one of the sub folders or "My Documents" in the documents library and it spat the dummy because the folder cannot be indexed. This may be the cause of the issue.
