Add on problems on Windows XP
When I start IE, I always get a warning that my system is running with add on's disabled. I go into "tools" and "manage add on's" and check to see if they are enabled and they are. One that seems to be real important is "Active X". I only know this because of trying to download pics onto FB. System always says something about installing Active X controls to continue. So the FB was the first indication that I have some sort of problem on my computer. Some time later I started getting the warning about my system running with add on's disabled. What the heck is going on with this sytem. I've had this comuter for four years. Also, I have never backed up any files or system before, so that will be another issue I may have to face. Please help, it's a good computer, just needs care.Thanks,clmoz1 person needs an answerI do too

Back up your data NOW or there will be Tears Before Bedtime very soon. http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Backing_Up Do this before you do anything else. As for the IE issue, please start with the basics: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware Come back with the results of the scanning for more help. When you post back, please also include some information about your computer, the antivirus/security programs you have installed, and what version if IE you have (IE6, IE7, or IE8). You can tell which version you have by opening IE and clicking on Help>About.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
