Administrator rights needed to update software?
I am operating Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit version. I am the only user and have the Administrator account. However, I am finding some programmes tell me that they cannot update as I don't have admistrator rights! What is going on? I have seen from other forum postings that there is a hidden administrator account within Windows 7. Should I enable that hidden accountand if so how do I do it? Thanks for any advice, Nick

With user account control (UAC) you have standard user rights until you request admin rights: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/How-do-I-run-an-application-once-with-a-full-administrator-access-token"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/
