After 5 Minutes, Unable to Browse Internet in Normal Mode, but can ping; can browse always in Safe Mode
Hi,My problem is: I boot Win XP SP3 in Normal Mode I browse Internet via Wired LAN Connection I am able to browse with any browser for 5 minutes Then all browsers show Page Cannot be Displayed But I am able to Ping any website even with website name. I boot Windows XP SP3 in Safe Mode with Networking I browse Internet via Wired LAN Connection I can browse with any browser for unlimited time I have Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition I don't use any 3rd Party Firewall other than Windows Firewall (which I have tried disabling, didn't work)I have tried Spyware Removal with Defender, Spybot S&D, MBAM etc.; but no luck as none found.I have tried winsockfix; no luck I have tried ip reset; no luck My browsers have no proxy Please Help !! Have tried was ever was suggested !! Getting Frustated..Looking upto you guys.. :-) 1 person needs an answerI do too

Since the problem occurs in Normal mode and not Safe Mode, it is safe to assume that the problem is due to a program that runs after startup but is not part of the minimal Windows programs/components. In cases like this, the methodical way to root out and stop this problem would be to use "msconfig" and troubleshoot per the procedure in:"How to troubleshoot configuration errors by using the System Configuration utility in Windows XP" <http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310560/en-us >Having said that, I do seem to remember in the back of my head a similar problem that ended up being caused by a Cisco VPN Client. If you have the Cisco VPN Client installed on your system, try un-installing it and see if it makes a difference.HTH, JW
