All .NET Frameworks will not install____
While trying to fix the KB953297 error ( by using the .Net framework removal tool) i unistalled .net framework 1.1 cause it would not let me uninstall it otherwise, then used add or remove programs to remove all other versions and updates. Then i deleted all the extra left behind files in the Microsoft.net folder, then after reboot tried to install 3.5 as someone instructed would be best first, then it gave me and error saying that it needed 3.0 installed, tried to install 3.0 and got an error, went down to 2.0 got an error, then 1.1 got an error, 1.0 also got an error. I think i left behind registry that will not allow the installations to complete but i'm not sure which values.1 person needs an answerI do too

Assuming you used This Tool with no success, you can read through these Manual Removal instructions for further assistance.

Ok, i have followed the steps up to the deleting of mscoree.dll. It will not allow me to delete this file.

You should review the instructions entirely and decide if you may need to perform them again. There is no reason why, if you achieved all the other steps in the instruction successfully, that windows would not allow you to delete the file....there are reasons why of course, but not if you had properly followed the instructions. You can delete the file using other free utilities available on the public domain but I would prefer that you go over the instruction once more to see for yourself, as if we were to successfully delete the file using some other tool, then the rest of the "failed" install/uninstall .net framework issue will not go smoothly for you.

Ok! I got it all installed up to 3.0. There may still be files i need to delete for 3.0 and 3.5. But 1.0,1.1,1.1sp1,1.1sp1 security update, and 2.0 all downloaded succesfully

My computer did an update overnight and the rest were installed!! The only remaining download i need is for 1.0. It will not let me install the sp3 for 1.0.

It seems like i need sp2 before i can download sp3 and i cannot find the download anywhere?! One of the Microsoft support pages pointed to a download that they said was sp2 for 1.0, but it was a security update. Where can i find this download?

OK, you're losing me here...when you refer to a service pack of something, please indicate for which application since other applications have similarly named service packs...I can't tell with certainty whether you are trying to imply that one service pack or another won't install before one of the previous ones are. That implies to me, many different possibilities. Since we have been discussing the .net framework and related updates, I will assume you are still speaking of the service packs related to those applications. So...in short, I should say that it is not imperative that you have all of these but it might prove otherwise if you have some piece of software on your system that may require one or the other. In truth, it is hardly worth the effort to go investigating which pieces of software may require which .net framework installation...the reason I say this is because most often, if a piece of software requires one of the .net framework installations in order to function properly, that software normally will include that .net framework installer file with it if you don't already have it installed (and, sometimes, even if you do). In addition, if a piece of software needs one or the other .net framework installation to function, you most likely will be alerted about that during the installation of that software. You can rest easy as things are currently. If you open some piece of software that doesn't function properly, please look to it's manufacturer for an update as it may well be that the update will include what is necessary for the proper functionality relating to any .net framework package that may be needed.

My computer now wants to update to .net framework 1.0 sp3 but it is trying to find the netfx.msi file and i pointed to my desktop where i had the file extracted but it still gave me an error. And i don't know if i need sp2 in order to download sp3.

Assuming you are still trying to install the .net framework presented during the windows update scan, you can select to have the update no longer show itself if it bothers you...tell us which piece of software do you have installed that is not running properly.
