All of a sudden 'Unidentified Network - No Internet Access'
Managed to find the fix myself; First of all I checked CMD Prompt to see my current IP address using the command: ipconfig and it had 169.254.x.x which appears when the gateway fails to give the computer a correct address. Which should be something like 192.168.x.x (dependant on your network setup). So I changed my adapter MAC address: Device Manager > Network Adapters > Right Click on the network card > Properties > Advanced Tab > Network Address and enter a 12-digit alphanumeric string (0 to 9 or A to F) in the value field eg 1234567890AB > OK Now open CMD prompt and type: ipconfig /release Enter ipconfig /renew Enter Courtesy of - http://www.igeekden.com/2009/08/unidentified-network-windows-7-solved/#respond

Yesterday morning I was merrily using the wireless internet at work, I closed down the laptop to nip out for lunch, then when I came back, the internet won't work. It says 'connected' in the wireless network connection bit, but under 'currently connected to' it says 'Unidentified Network - No Internet Access' However, the laptop still connects to my home wireless. I hadn't changed any settings, so I have no idea why this happened in the first place, and various 'fixes' don't seem to have worked thus far. I have disabled bonjour & looked for the '##Id_...' string (which isn't there), I have reset the TCP/IP ssettings from command prompt, uninstalled, then reinstalled the drivers for the adapter, but I am still unable to gain access to the internet. So what's the deal? I am running 32bit Windows 7

Hi, According the issue, I suggest that you may perform a Clean Boot and set the wireless device, then check the problem again. So we can narrow down the problem if it is caused by any third-party software or the networking device. If the issue persists, I suggest that you may check the Bonjour DNS Responder Service. If you can't see any name such as "Bonjour DNS Responder service" in the services list. You must look for "Id_String2.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B87 9762" Please refer the following steps: 1.Click Start button, click Run. 2.Type “services.msc”, press enter. 3.Look for: Id_String2.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B87 9762 in the list 4.Right Click, select Properties 5.From the startup type drop down select Disabled 6.Click STOP, then click OK.
