Apply property Error
I am using WINDOWS-7 OS. When trying to change the detail/description of a desk top short-cut I get the following error. "An error occurred when writing the property 'Description' to the file
'file name bla bla bla ......' ".
To repeat the error see below:
Right click any short cut ICON.
click on properties
click on details
click on description
click in adjacent area of the description field
enter some value in high lighted "ADD TEXT" area.
click OK
Error will appear.
Can anyone HELP, is this a BUG??

Thanks for responding Leo,
I have seen and reviewed the links/threads in the past.
I have a problem with the information at these threads, to be honest it seems to be nebulas and convoluted.
Is it possible that someone out there has a straight forward answer?
It would be appreciated if some reader out there running W7 actually creates the error descried above.
It seems to me once the error is duplicated, the answer to the problem would be:
Do A, then B followed by X, Y and Z.
If such a simplistic answer does not exist then I guess I will just have to live with the BUG.

You can go to

I tried your suggestion in Safe Mode; I still get the same error.
I went to

Hello again Leo;
Thank you for the BUG submission!
Where or what should I monitor for a repose to my problem?
I assume the issue will be addressed by a Microsoft employee familiar with W7 SHORT-CUTS?
Can you comment on how it will be addressed one way or another?
Thanks again, George
