Applying operation update even not installing or update anything.
My notebook is windows 7 Pro 64bit. The TrustedInstaller.exe memory usage used about 500M in task manager after i went back for lunch. This happen everytime i came back from lunch.. After seeing this, I restart my notebook. It went into configuring windows update XX% complete.. then applying update operation XXX of 92975 (it does not finish until 92975)... then failure configuring windows features. reverting changes. and it went to the login screen... I did not did any windows update nor installing any windows component. I had run MicrosoftFixit50202.msi and clicked on the check for update in the windows update but it didnt works. How do I stop seeing the applying update operation XXX.... even i did not install any update? It is very irritating to see this.

Hi, I read a lot on this process TrustedInstaller.exe, many people refer it to automatice update and windows update etc. However, 92975 does not sound windows updates check. Make sure you have disabled automatic update and set windows update as "Never check for updates (not recommended)" from control panel->windows update. If this did not resolve the issue, then it may have something to do with either currupt third party software or spyware. I suggest perform the following to troubleshoot the issue: 1.Navigate to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Action Center\Problem Reports, and click "clear all problem reports", then OK. 2. Prepare clean boot in case it is third party software conflict. Clean Boot prevents software conflicts by preventing the startup items and non Microsoft services from loading. This way you can safely follow the process of elimination to check which application is causing this behavior. Refer: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 Note: Ensure that you put your computer back to normal startup mode after completing the troubleshooting steps. Steps are available in the article given above. From the Problem Report, I did see some items on the windows modules installer. I also attached the lpksetup log file. The content of the lpupdate log file is the same for everyday. There should be something wrong with the language pack. I had also run sfc /scannow and everything is ok. I had resolved the problem by uninstalling the 4 language packs (zh-TW, ja-JP, ko-KR, th-TH) one by one as stated in the problem report.
