Did you mean the click to call on website?
If so, you can disable the Skype Browser Helper add-on for IE.
So there is a range of function skype has replaced lync as the default program
So for example in conversation history saved in outlook, if I click a missed call Skype now fires up etc.
In word if you enter tel:+1... and click on it, it used to open lync, now it opens skype.
Thanks. It sounds reasonable what you are saying (if annoying).
I am surprised there aren't more people complaining about this as my searches on the web about this aren't coming up with many hits.
If you hear about the fix can you reply to this post again with the link _ that would be much appreciated.
I have the same problem. Microsoft states this as a "known issue" with "no workaround" here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/lync-help/lync-2013-known-issues-HA102919641.aspx
I'm using Win7, but have the same problem. Adding the URL associations did not work for me. I could not find the registry associated with Lync.
Instead, I was able to edit the "TEL:" default application directly:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tel\shell\open\command was set to some command for skype. I changed this to:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Lync\communicator.exe" "%l" and everything is happy.
Go to SKYPE Options, Advanced Tab and uncheck the top 2 boxes, then reboot and Tel: # re associate back to LYNC.
