Atheros AR5006EG and Windows 7
Hi everyone. I have a Win 7 Business installed with an Atheros AR5006EG wireless network adapter. My issue is that the wi-fi works, connects to every access point, but after a while, especially with heavy network loads, it drops the connection and seems that it doesn't find any other connection available. For instance it finds three networks (let's call them A, B, C); I choose to connect to A and download updates for 1GB; after 600MB it drops the connection and I can't see any of the connections. The only way to make it work is restart the pc. I tryed to install various drivers but it always works the same way, so not properly. Any suggestion?

Have you disabled any power saving features of the wireless NIC? Do you have the latest Windows 7 drivers installed from the OEM?MCSE, MCSA, MCDST

I also suggest updating BIOS. If it does not work, try it in Clean Boot mode.Vivian Xing - MSFT

hi. i already tried the clean boot and have installed the last drivers. the bios version is the last available. i found another way to make it work without restarting tgge system: sleep mode and back. if anybody knows what happens to the os switching between the two states, maybe a solution can be found. I thought that perhaps it could have been a ram problem, but ram test returns perfect values. any idea?
