Attempting to reach the Corporate Network from home
I have a client I need to connect to the network from home. My options are that I cannot give the user the Administrator password so they cannot vpn into it. What options do I have and what can I do from the login screen so that the user can attempt to log into the Corporate network. The user is remote, living across the country and cannot make it to a corporate site. The user has a vpn token but no way to get into the administrative account.1 person needs an answerI do too

When using a VPN, you do not need an administrator password if the VPN client and server are configured properly. A person typically uses his or her own credentials.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]------------------------------If a reply helps, please vote it as helpful. HiThe whole point is to provide security that can Not be compromised.Unless your IT people can provide you with some kind of te.p log on solution for this specific case you have No option. Jack, MVP-Networking. EZLAN.NET

Thank you. I realise that, perhaps I wasn't clear enough sorry. I meant to say that they do not have access to the administrator account, and need to connect to the network. They can't even get to the VPN client because they don't can't enter any computer profiles. They're caught at the login screen.

Is there a way a temporary account could be created? I don't believe the guest accounts were activated but perhaps there's a way to activate them through command line, before logging in?

HiWhoever have the right to configure the Network would able to do what is needed on the server. How to do it (locally or remote) is a matter of how the server is configured, and what is allowed, there is No universal solution to it.No matter what the client that needs to connect cannot do anything about it unless the server is set to accept his credentials.
