AutoPlay Not Running When Inserting CD/DVD
I think I have tried all the settings listed in this forum. 1) Went to AutoPlay in Control Panel, and made sure "Use AutoPlay for all media and devices is checked". 2) Set all media to "Ask me everytime". 3) Went into gpedit.msc Made sure "Turn off Autoplay" was disabled. 4) Made sure AutoPlay will run on disk, by right-clicking on the drive with the disk inserted, and left-clicking Open AutoPlay. I'm out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated. Michael

When you load the disc and go to My Computer, does the AutoPlay option even appear on the right click menu? And if so, what happens when you select that? You may also want to check program defaults and settings in Windows Media Player.

Hi, You may try the following steps to check the registry value: Click Start, and then click Run. Type regedit, and then click OK. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom 4. Double-click Autorun and see whether a zero or a one is displayed in the Value data box. If the value for Autorun is 1, go to step 5. If the value for Autorun is 0, right-click Autorun, and then click Modify. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK. 5. Locate and then click the following subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer 6. Double-click NoDriveTypeAutoRun to see its value. If the value is 0xb5, the AutoRun feature for CD-ROMs is turned off. To turn on the AutoRun feature, follow these steps: Right-click NoDriveTypeAutoRun. Click Modify. In the Value data box, type 91. Select Hexadecimal, and then click OK. 7. Exit Registry Editor. Also, you could try to reset all defaults to check the result is.Alex Zhao TechNet Community Support

The problem is, it doesn't come up on it's own, which causes problems with the staff. Michael
