Automatic promotional emails sent from my account to all of my contacts
Alot of my contacts have been telling me to stop sending them emails every week or so and these emails have not been sent by me. I also receive noreply emails sent every week or so and i get hundreds of them at a time probably because this particular spam mail is being sent to my WHOLE list and alot of my contacts are old and inactive. I asked a friend to forward me back one of the emails and here it is: ''it has been so long since I last heard from you I bet that you have a lot going on you could definitely do well with this http://bit.ly/dufrpz money started to pour into my pocket you will be remembered for this'' -end of message Could you please help me get rid of this problem? Thank you numbers!1 person needs an answerI do too

It would help to know which email provider you use.I had two friends at work who used AOL email and had a similar problem. Emails were being sent to their address book apparently from them when their computer was physically powered-off. The solution for them was to change their account password to something more complicated and harder to crack (combination of upper/lower case, numbers, and punctuation). Never allow your computer to remember the password for you.HTH, JW

Hi Chanutch25,Which email client do you use?As ‘Wunders’ say, you may change your password and then check for the issue. However, it looks like your computer is infected by virus.I would strongly recommend you to run the Virus Scan.a. If you don’t have anti-virus software installed on your computer, I suggest that you run a Malware scan on your computer.http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/ b. I would recommend you to run online Virus Scan to remove any infections, if present.Follow the link below to run the free online scan:http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htmRegards,Manasa P – Microsoft Support.

Thank you numbers!Changing your email password is probably only one step you will need to take. Most often when email accounts are hijacked it is the result of keyloggers being installed on your computer by trojan downloaders. Hence, if you change your password and do not remove the malware your email will simply be hacked again and again. I would like to see a few log files of your computer to tell you exactly what is going on. However, MS Answers no longer allows the posting of log files. If you would like my assistance you can post your issue in the Virus/Malware section of my free computer support forum on the link below.
