Backing up files to 2nd internal drive - Quickbooks
Recently purchased a new pc with Windows 7(64 bit) and am still unable to back up my Quickbooks or Quicken file to a 2nd internal hard drive. I receive the following error: "The currently logged in windows user does not have permission to write or delete files from this location" A few things: 1) I am the only user and therefore by default the administrator or at least it should be by default 2) I have 3 internal drives. One from my old machine that I moved and a newer drive I installed right after I purchased the new computer. Can not back up to either of them. 3) I've tried right clicking on the Quickbooks and running the program as the administrator to no avail 4) I've read that you can back up to the C: drive and then move the file but that is just ridiculous I have a similar problem when trying to delete an .mp3 from my Media Monkey Player. Because my music is on the F: drive it says I do not have the administrator rights to delete the file. How do I set this thing up so that I can do such mundane tasks as backing up and deleting files from within programs that I have used for years and never had any problem. Very frustrating and there are no clear answers out there that I can find.

Right click on the program and select run as administrator if that fails then there may be some issue with permissions on the system http://www.blogsdna.com/2159/how-to-take-ownership-grant-permissions-to-access-files-folder-in-windows-7.htm Windows MVP, paid Remote Assistance is available for XP, Vista and Windows 7.
