Backup
When I'm trying to back up drive C: (for the first time) to a CD-RW in drive I:, as I:\Backup150410.bkf, I get the msg.: "The backup file name could not be used". What's going on ?3 people need an answerI do too

I assume you are using the built-in XP backup program, NTBackup? If this is correct, then NTBackup is a very old backup program that cannot back up directly to CD-R (you don't want to be using CD-RW discs anyway). You would need to save your back up to a hard drive (second drive or different partition on a single drive) and then burn to CD/DVD-R. Since NTBackup is so old, it would be much better for you to use a current back up program. When I used the built in XP backup program on my drive instead of the 38GB that it actually has the backup shows 122GB. Is there some reason that it is so large. When I ran Acronis is showed about 38GB. I would rather use a free program if it works. Any ideas?
