BitLocker To Go Drive Encryption
Hi all!I was testing the Bitlocker function this afternoon and decided to see if it works as Microsoft has stated it should. Paul Thurrot mentioned that it works with Flash media too so I took a 1GB SD Card and attempted to run the wizard. It started up and seemed to be doing something but then after a minute a little message popped up at the bottom of the window reading 'Incorrect Function'. It then stayed like that and the progress bar didn't move. Has anyone else tested this successfully? Is it even working properly in the Beta build?Best Regards,Ibraheem

Click start, and type 'manage bitlocker' This will let you see the drives and turn on the flash drives you want. Works fine for me.Rating posts helps other users Mark L. Ferguson MS-MVP

Hi Mark, thanks for replying to my post.Yeah, I did work through the applet from the very beginning after the initial drop down menu didn't work through control panel. Even when using the manager I'd still get the same error message so I guess it has something to do with the SD Card Filesystem. I initially thought that all FAT file systems were supported but I think it's only FAT16 and above. That's a bit of a bummer really because I could really stand to gain with using it on my PDA removable media.Ah well, no winners, no losers eh?
