The bitlocker manager is missing, and does not come up when i search for bitlocker.
I didn't get what I was expecting then either. What opens is a Control Panel section
Control Panel\System and Security\BitLocker Drive Encryption
And if you try to look for BitLocker in Task Manager, even though there is an open window with that title, nothing is found, until I expand the Windows Explorer item. Evidently all CP items get subsumed by WE.
However, that is not what I was expecting to find anyway. I thought you might be after manage-bde.exe and in order to see instances of that clearly I need to be in the Start Screen and type that whole word.

Hi.
If I search for Bitlocker on 8.1 pro, "manage Bitlocker" is found. Without, it is still no problem to simply rightclick c: and select "turn on Bitlocker" - or is it?
Hi danielkilburn,
It should be located in Control Panel\System and Security, check if it is in control panel.
When you right click your data drive, could you see Turn on Bitlocker?
Check your PC information and make sure you are using Windows 8.1 Pro edition.
If you cannot find it even in control panel.
We suggest you run DISM tool to check the system file integrity.
To use DISM tool for system file repair make sure you have valid internet connection

and no, my issue is that the manager does not show up when searching for bitlocker, if it were that simple i wouldnt be on here! :)
Hi makisup,
If you cannot find bitlocker manager from searching box and you know it is on your computer, please run search and indexing trouble shooter then check the issue again.
You could search search in control panel and click Find and fix problems with Windows Search under troubleshooting.
