Bitlocker drive configuration
I note when researching Bitlocker that the system volume should be a basic disk - but another place states that the system volume and operating system volume must be simple volumes which can be either basic or dynamic.
Can a Bitlocker basic drive be converted to dynamic after setup? And what is a good understanding of the advantages if so?

Only Basic volumes are supported. Refer to the "What type of disk configurations are supported by BitLocker?" section from the following artical:
