Bitlocker drive on a different computer (same OS)
Question, if I have a non-OS drive that is running BitLocker, and that computer fails for a hardware issue, and I want to move the good hard drive to another computer to read the information, how do I get the other computer (both the systems run Windows 7 if it matters) to read the BitLocker drive? Will it ask me for the recovery key or is there some other method? Thanks,Owner, Quilnet Solutions

From the document, if you move the Bitlocker drive to a different computer, it will trigger a recovery and you will use the recovery key to unlock the drive:System recoveryA number of scenarios can trigger a recovery process, for example: -Moving the BitLocker-protected drive into a new computer.-Installing a new motherboard with a new TPM.-Turning off, disabling, or clearing the TPM.-Updating the BIOS.-Updating option ROM.-Upgrading critical early boot components that cause system integrity validation to fail.-Forgetting the PIN when PIN authentication has been enabled.-Losing the USB flash drive containing the startup key when startup key authentication has been enabled. An administrator can also trigger recovery as an access control mechanism (for example, during computer redeployment). An administrator may decide to lock an encrypted drive and require that users obtain BitLocker recovery information to unlock the drive. For more detailed information, you can check the following article: BitLocker Drive Encryption Overviewhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732774.aspxHope this helps!Sean Zhu - MSFT
