Black Screen with mouse/cursor Windows7
The Problem: - User cannot log in; CTRL ALT DEL brings up Welcome screen then goes to black with movable cursor/mouse (not blinking). - User Reboots computer same result. - All Windows 7 and Vista boxes on the network are affected. -Cannot access the system services or logs - states the user does not have permissions even though the user is the admin for the box and/or domain admin. Tried Solutions: - Go to Safe Mode. Black Screen with moveable mouse. - Go to a restore point. This works for awhile until the restore point becomes so corrupted that it will not longer work. - Go to a restore point. Cannot run Microsoft Office and cannot reinstall because user does not have permissions even though the user is Admin on the box and/or Domain admin - Using the Windows 7 repair but the disk we have and use to rebuild the boxes will not repair says the systems are not compatable. - Reinstall OS on box. This works for awhile usually an hour or two then begin to experience the same problem. Tried to repair the box with the same install disk but again says the systems are not compatable. We have posted at this forum as well. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/black-screen-before-ctrl-alt-del-login-issue/4d6bcf53-686c-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5 We were told to post here. If you have any suggestions we are willing to try.Sandy

Thanks to all that helped. We found the answer. It was a group policy that was set that affected all the Win 7 and Vista boxes.Sandy
