Users are running windows xp sp3. Looking for a way to block the indexing of network drives to allow the instant search feature in outlook 2007.To do this i know we can disable the indexing and turn the service off, but the users still can turn them back on.I know vista and windows 7 have this capability, but since i have to use what is on hand, I'm looking for a way to accomplish this with in XP. assuming i can block gpo access they would not be able to get in and turn it back on. any tools or ideas how or if possible?1 person needs an answerI do too

Try group policy if your PC are in domain and I think there is a object in gpedit that you could disable Windows Search Index.
