What kind of boot disc to do what? There are many boot discs available for various tasks. You can create a Linux Live CD like Knoppix or Ubuntu to retrieve data off a hard drive if you can't get into Windows. You can create a Bart's PE or use one of the antivirus rescue CDs to scan a drive for malware if you can't get into Windows. The XP installation CD is also bootable if you need to use Recovery Console or reinstall Windows.
