Brain Injury Survivor left floundering without cable sync of Windows 7 laptop and Windows Phone 7
I, among apparently MANY others, do NOT want to use "the cloud" to sync my data from my laptop to my handheld. I am a brain injury survivor with
significant memory problems who depends on the ability to sync my phone to my computer - mostly Outlook - to be at least haphazardly independent. I was independent before my accident - but then I could depend on my memory and other cognitive abilities. Since
my brain injury, I need many compensation devices, the ability to sync my handheld to my laptop being probably the most important (Outlook, Pocket Quicken, and other software).
PLEASE, Microsoft...reconsider those of us who not only do not want to be forced into the cloud, but simply can't afford to do so. Access to the
cloud requires access to the internet. Most of the time, when I'm at home, that's okay. When I'm at home, I have my laptop and I don't need to depend on my handheld. But, as soon as I get ready to leave home, I need to able to sync my phone to the most recent
data on my laptop. More of a problem is when I'm traveling and don't have access to the internet, but still need to be able to sync my phone and laptop. I need either a USB connection or maybe (bluetooth or infrared - need to check manuals) - but prefer USB.
