Broken Appliactions
I recently did a migration of all my data and applications and upgraded to Win 7 pro. Everything was migrated, but none of my apps are listed in my start menu or my program applet in control panel. All of my freeware is operable but my purchased software is non operable. How can i get my programs listed in the start menu and the program app in control panel and how can i use them again? P.S. when reinstalled the nonworking software it still was not operable, and the reinstalls went through with no erros

Please provide some more information. You need to provide as much detail about your specific situation as you can. What version of Windows did you upgrade from to Windows 7? What application did you use to migrate your data and applications? Windows Easy Transfer does not migrate applications. So, did you use a third party application for this migration? If so, what application? Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Ok, i will provide more information when i get home to my desktop to give exact error log readings. But i did use Windows Easy Transfer to do the migration not knowing that it couldn't transfer applications. I was upgrading from Win 7 Pro to Win 7 Ultimate. Not knowing exact log file info off the top of my head, it was giving a side-by-side configuration error message but only for the applications that wouldn't lauch (Nero 9 Reloaded, Nero Media Server 4, Nero Back It Up and Burn, and Kasperky Anti-Virus) but all my other applications would launch even though they weren't in the start menu and the program applet on the control panel. But as soon as i get home i will give the precise error readings.

How does it work if you remove these applications? For purchased applications, you have to re-registry them. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
