Hi, Thanks for the post. When you tried to use sfc/scannow to check the integrality of system files but an issue occured. Maybe some files in the Winsxs folder is corrupted. If so, the easiest way to repair it is to make an In-place upgrade. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2255099 Regards, Juke TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tnmff@microsoft.com.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hello again, I have seen this error: HRESULT = 0x80004005 Please try disabling all security softwares and try again. If this does not help, I think it will be better to perform a repair install of your OS (In-place upgrade). This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights. Hi, This behavior definitely is not normal. I need you to continue the action. Please upload the whole setupact.log and setuperr.log files to Skydrive. Because this log may indicate why Windows 7 choose partition D to store its temp files and why the System volume and boot volume cannot be prepared for installation. Thanks.
