tried safe mode...will not boot either safe mode windows or safe mode command promptWhat happen before this to happen? Does the system up to date and you are running an up2date security software. Also, does the system up2date with security updates from Microsoft updates?There is a Vulnerabilities been addressed by Microsoft in regards to CSRSRV.DLL. Try to use your CD to access the RC ( Recovery Console) to copy the file to the directory by doing the following:First the meaning of CSRSRV.DLL is: Client Server Runtime ProcessInsert your CD installation media in your CD/DVD Drive and boot to Set up and select the Recovery Console:When the computer starts, run setup, and make your CD the first in the boot list.Place your XP Windows disc in the CD drive and reboot.You should see "Welcome to Setup"Press RSelect 1, then press EnterEnter the Administrators Account password At the prompt enter the following: Copy X:\i386\csrsrv.dll c:\windows\system32\csrsrv.dll assuming the CD drive is X ( in your case can be D, E...etc). This will copy the csrsrv.dll file from the windows disc to the computer, replacing the corrupted csrsrv.dll.Let me know your progress.nass -- http://www.nasstec.co.uk
