Can't browse network in Win7 RC 64. Also can't browse Devices and Printers after a few hours. Anyone else having these issues?
I am running Windows 7 RC 64 on two computers. One is a desktop and the other a notebook (both fairly newer name-brand PCs). On both PCs, I can access network shares by typing the direct path (i.e. \\server\sharename, see Figure 2 below) but the Network icon NEVER works. It just opens a blank window. The spinning "loading" cursor just spins and spins, and nothing happens. I can close the window successfully by clicking the X in upper-right corner, so it doesn't hang Windows entirely. It's just very annoying. See Figure 1 below:Figure 1: What happens when I try to browse the network Figure 2: I can type a direct path (i.e. \\server\business) and browse that way, but I can't use the Network icon. The same thing happens from time-to-time when trying to browse Devices and Printers. It's happening right now as I speak. Restarting the computer fixes the Devices & Prnters issues for a short time, then after a few hours of using the computer, I am unable to look at the devices again. See image below: Figure 3: After several hours of use, I can no longer see all of my Devices & Printers. It just displays a blank page like this. Restarting the computer always fixes for short time, but after several hours this happens. Very annoying. What makes it even more frustrating is that I never experienced this in Windows 7 beta (build 7000). EVERYTHING worked as it should. But I have had issue upon issue in Win7 Release Candidate. Just a new bug to report.
