Hi kansashen, Method 1:You may try the below steps to add printer:a. Click “Start”, “Control Panel”, “Hardware and Sound”.b. Click “Add a printer”.c. Choose “Add a local printer” and click on “Create a new port”.d. Select “Local Port” and click “Next”.e. Type in "[\\computer name\printer name]" (without quotation marks) for the Port Name and click “OK”. Example: If the computer you wish to connect to is named Computer A and the printer is called Printer A then the path would be \\ComputerA\ Printer A Method 2:If that does not help, you may run the fix it from the below link: Printing problems and printing errors:http://support.microsoft.com/mats/printing_problems/en-us Regards:Samhrutha G S - Microsoft Support.Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

my problem is bigger than thatI have Windows xp pro, and i am trying to add a printer that is on my home network. It seems that I can't even "ping" to any of the other computers. However i can get on the internet thru the same router as my network. So that is why I am confused. It used to be working but something changed and I have never figured out how to fix it.
