When I go to add a printer on my laptop, I get to where a list of printers should appear but never do.

my problem is bigger than thatI have Windows xp pro, and i am trying to add a printer that is on my home network. It seems that I can't even "ping" to any of the other computers. However i can get on the internet thru the same router as my network. So that is why I am confused. It used to be working but something changed and I have never figured out how to fix it.
