Can't create backup image to DVD
While trying to create a backup image in win-7 it goes as far as formatting the DVD and continues to go back to asking for media... I have wasted three DVD's trying to accomplish this... I am using Sony DVD and have not had any issues with them in the past... UPDATE: After trying DVD+RW it finally started to write the image... After 30% of the progress bar finished and 60% of the DVD filled the program stopped and asked for another DVD... then hung and would not open the drive... Not sure what is going on... Tried Firmware update and no change...

Did you install any third party burning software? If so, please temporary uninstall it. Then, I suggest that you follow the two steps below to check and remove filter drivers. Step1: Delete filter driver===================== 1. Click "Start", in the Start Search box type "regedit" and press Enter. 2. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} 3. Right click on "Class", click "Export"; please name the file as "RegBackup" (without quotation marks) and then save it to the C:\ drive as a backup. Note: In case we need to undo the modification, we can double click this RegBackup.reg file to restore the registry key. 4. Highlight this key, on the right pane, check if the "Upperfilters" and "Lowerfilters" values are present. If so, please right click on the values and select "Delete" to remove them. After deleting filter drivers, please reload the drivers. Step2: Reinstall driver===================== 1. Click "Start", in the Start Search box type "devmgmt.msc" and press "Enter". 2. Expand "DVD/CDROM Drives". 3. Right click the listed DVD/CD-ROM, and click "Uninstall". Please uninstall all devices. 4. Restart the computer.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Hi, Thanx for your input. I have only installed Adobe CS3. I did all you explained to do. There were no upper/lower filters listed anywhere there. I did uninstall and reinstall through device manager with no change in the issues. Not sure why the backup program is trying to format a Dvd+R disk?
