Can't get my network printers to work!
I have Windows 7 on my laptop and Windows XP on the desktop. I realise that this is an old problem, but I can't seem to fix it. I can see one of my printers, and it is installed and set up as the default printer, but absolutely refuses to print. Troubleshooter can't find anything wrong and it works fine from the desktop (it is a Samsung colour laser). The HP Officejet printer absolutely refuses to be installed, although I can 'see' it on my laptop - I have tried both as a network printer and installing it as a local printer (local printer I get an error message saying that it can't find the network path!). I also have a Graphtec craft robo, but there is no way I am even attempting to print to that from the laptop! I have tried all the solutions I have seen on the forums, but nothing seems to work! Any help would be appreciated!

It seems that you have tried the following steps to add the printers to the Windows 7 system one by one. 1. Click Start, click Control Panel and double click Devices and Printers. 2. Click Add a Printer. 3. Select "Add a local printer". 4. Select "Create a new port". Choose "Local Port" as the type of the port. 5. In the box "Enter a port name", type the address as the following format. \\<IP address of the host computer>\<The Share Name of the printer> Then click Next. 6. Select the correct driver in from the driver list. If the required driver is not present, click the “Windows Update” button. After the update finishes, search for the proper driver again. Does file sharing work properly? I suspect that the problem is the firewall or antivirus in the Windows XP system. How does it work if you temporary disable them? If the issue still occurs, please let us know if the device drivers are included in Windows 7 when you try to install them. Maybe you need to download the driver from the manufacturers’ websites. What are the model of the printers? Additionally, please make sure that you have properly shared the printers. Please add the Guest account in the NTFS and file sharing permission list of the printers. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
