Can't rename a folder in Windows 7 - receive error message
When trying to rename a folder in Windows 7, I get a "Folder In Use" message saying that the folder or a file in it is open in another program. This is untrue as I don't have any other programs open. I even rebooted the computer and tried again and it gave me the same message. This has occurred more than once and it's beginning to drive me crazy. Do you have any suggestions as to how to fix this problem?

Use Process Explorer (monitor) from Sysinternals in your forensics. Regards Milos

Hi, Please use the Process Explorer to check which process keeps your file in use. In addition, you can try to rename the folder in Safe Mode to see the result. For more reference, Troubleshooting with Process Monitor Hope this helps Vincent Wang TechNet Community Support
